I own a 2017 ZX10R, very uncharacteristically for this normally bomb proof engine a fault occurred resulting in the engine firing on only 3 of the 4 cylinders, very quickly after dropping the bike off at the shop i was contacted by Gary from the service department who informed me that this was something very much more serious than a spark plug misfiring and he would be in touch as soon as they diagnosed the issue, he called me back with the news that there was water in cylinder number 1 which would suggest that the cylinder is maybe cracked, at this point he made me aware that my warranty had ran out a couple of weeks before the fault occurred, i was totally gutted, he then told me that even though the warranty had lapsed Kawasaki UK may still honour the warranty if this was indeed a valid claim. Gary called several times to keep me informed over the next couple of weeks relaying the bikes diagnostics and the conversations which he was having with Kawasaki UK. Then one evening driving home from work Gary called (my heart sank when i seen the number as i thought it was going to be bad news regarding the warranty) but no he called and said that Kawasaki UK would indeed honour the lapsed warranty and cover all costs to the repair of the bike, (nearly £4000) i was elated, I would like to thank Gary from Bolton Motorcycles for keeping me in the loop at all levels, the mechanics who found the fault and repaired the engine and Kawasaki UK for being and amazing company.
