KAWASAKI Z900 - PERFORMANCE PACK
Riding this Z900 was such an exhilarating and thrilling experience. You wouldn't think it'd be so different from the retro sport counter-part offered by Kawasaki, the Z900RS. But honestly it is!
Having owned a Yamaha MT-09 in the past, I felt right at home on the Z900. Foot controls are in a very similar position, but the handlebars are a little farther away on the Kawasaki, just enough to make the riding position a touch more aggressive, but comfortable nevertheless.
The real difference is ride quality, with a confident inspiring front-end and a firm quality suspension at the rear. It all contributes to controlled handling, even though the weight of the bike is quite high, especially if we compare it to the other middleweight naked bikes on the market right now.
The engine is punchy, smooth and throttle response is a lot better too. It howls at the very top of the range, making an impressive 124 bhp.
The gearbox although could be a little better, due to the lack of much feeling there, it works as it should.
Stopping power is pretty good too, as breaks are as responsive as they should be on a bike of this level.
This tasty performance package, includes a short screen, special tank decal, a seat cowl and an amazing Akrapovic exhaust, giving this motorcycle a lovely note.
I think the main problem with this bike is definitely the existence of the Triumph Street Triple.
Lighter on its feet, it feels a little easier on long bends and faster changing directions.
But overall this is a lovely bike at a lovely price here at Bolton Motorcycles.
