Germanic retro style and amazing build quality, this BMW R Nine T is truely one of a kind. Fitted with so many unique accessories taking it further back in time.
The characterful Boxer engine is definitely the star of the show. The 1170cc air-cooled unit kicks and bangs along with every other part contributing to the overall vibe.
Everytime I jump on an R Nine T I'm transported back in time and it's no different with this one.
This fully custom bike has been set up with bar risers making the riding position more comfortable and relaxed, which I appreciate.
But that's not all! LEDs all around (including an awesome looking halo front headlight), carbon fenders, fly screen and a solo seat conversion. These are some of the many custom parts fitted to this R Nine T.
With its high quality parts the ride was absolutely superb. Suspension set-up was really confidence inspiring, along with the relaxed seating position.
I was able to find my comfort zone straight away.
There's a refined feel thanks to the great balance of comfort and control. At the front the 45mm upside-down forks have preload, rebound and compression adjustment. While the rear shock (offering adjustable preload and rebound) felt plush and luxurious.
There's plenty of feel coming from both ends so you'll always feel in control.
On top of that I loved the braking power, quick to activate and precise to operate. Much like the throttle, even though it can be a little snatchy changing gear. I would have loved having a quickshifter but maybe it's best not having it on this kind of bike. You want to feel like you're in control and push those gears smoothly.
Thanks to the final drive (shaft drive) you'll barely have to do any maintainance to it.
The BMW R Nine T is a proper machine! Old school and stripped back. There's not much tech either. ABS and stability control, that's it! You know what? I respect that.
The retro clocks are just gorgeous and add a touch of nostalgia if there wasn't much going for it already.
This is a special bike and you'll be lucky to own one! Find it now for sale at Bolton Motorcycles for £10,999. Simply amazing value for money considering all the work that's been done to it!
