Suzuki V-Strom 1050XT
What an amazing bike and deal you can now get at Bolton Motorcycles. I cannot believe how much you actually get for your money! Suzuki has been so high on their brand new engine packed with its all-new safety features: Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS).
The system incorporates the Motion Track Brake System, Hill Hold Control, Slope Dependent Control, Load Dependent Control, Cruise Control, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) and a Traction Control System. All powered by a new ride-by-wire throttle and a 6 direction 3 axis IMU sensor to provide riders with intelligent controls to enhance ease of use, convenience, comfort and enjoyment.
The overal package makes this motorcycle as they say "The Master of Adventure".
They are not wrong! Even thought they got my hopes up before I even started reviewing this bike, there's no doubt there's a reason for it.
I managed to fully understand all the features and made full use of them straight away.
On British roads it genuinely felt like an effortless ride, after setting up the fully adjustable suspensions I have never felt so safe, comfortable and ready to approach the long road ahead.
Mode C and B were lovely and smooth, but there's no surprise there, mode A was my favourite. Offering full power, that carries through the range all the way to the very top. In fact there's something at the top that I absolutely love. The nature of this engine is definitely not tame anymore (like the old model it replaces).
Traction control does a great job at correcting the most violent of throttle pulls, but it unfortunately stops its wheelie too. Not a problem, just turn it off and the front wheel comes up with minimum effort.
It can be the most docile puppy or the most exciting beast, depending on which mode you set, it really is up to you!
I would definitely step up and get the XT version with the add-ons you really want. There's also the ability to attach a full set of luggage for the long road trips. The only real complain I have is the fact that Suzuki doesn't currently offer a quickshifter with the bike. It's really a shame, maybe one to come in future versions.
